Job Training
According to the UK Government's Office for Disability Issues, there are over 10 million people with a limiting long term illness, impairment or disability in the UK. Because of their disability, most people are faced with many barriers when they try to do things that non-disabled people do, like getting a job. Only about 47% of disabled people are employed compared to 77% of non-disabled people, according to the Office for Disability Issues.
Work Equality is helping individuals with disabilities realize their potential to an independent living standard and more fulfilling lives through employment. A job will not only pay the bills but it has the potential to give individuals with disabilities more choice and control over their lives. Being employed will make individuals with disabilities become active members of their communities and be self-reliant.
At Work Equality we feel that every individual with disability should have the equal opportunity to obtain a job that matches their skills and preferences. We believe that with the right mixture of encouragement, support, and training, it is possible for individuals with disabilities to make immensely valuable contributions to the workplace and society. This is our reasoning for finding jobs and providing employment training for individuals with disabilities. Our jobs and training services support individuals with disabilities to develop the skills they need for the workplace.
