How your Donation Helps Work Equality
According to the UK Government's Office for Disability Issues, there are over 10 million people with a limiting long term illness, impairment or disability in the UK. Thus, 1 in 7 working age adults have a disability. Because of their disability, most people are faced with many barriers when they try to do things that non-disabled people do, like getting a job. Although, the employment rate gap between disabled and non-disabled people has decreased over the years, disabled people continue to have problems in finding employment. Only about 47% of disabled people are employed compared to 77% of non-disabled people, this is according to the Office for Disability Issues statistics.
Work Equality is helping individuals with disabilities realize their potential to an independent living standard and more fulfilling lives through employment. A job will not only pay the bills but it has the potential to give individuals with disabilities more choice and control over their lives. By donating your money or time you will help provide vital services for individuals with disabilities.
